Negosiasi Otoritas Fikih: Relasi Perti Kultural dan Organisasi Keagamaan Arus Utama di Kerinci

Abstract

This article provides an explanation of religious dynamics in the aspect of fiqh in Kerinci, Jambi. There are many religious groups and organizations in Kerinci that compete for influence and authority. From all of that, Persatuan Tarbiyah Islamiyah (Perti) is not very prominent as a structural organization, but its role in the cultural area is very decisive. Therefore, this study wants to see how the fiqh transmission pattern played by Perti is structurally and culturally, and how the fiqh authority works in the crowd of religious organizations and groups. This study uses qualitative data collected through interviews with religious leaders, observations of religious activities, and a review of relevant documents. The results of the study indicate that Perti's religious transmission prioritizes a long-standing cultural approach through a network of pesantren, local ulama, writings, tariqa networks, and friendship between ulama, but all of this is not in the name of the organization. Perti dominantly in Kerinci holds traditional religious authority, although many religious organizations claim to hold legal-formal authority. However, this research data focuses more on transmission and religious authority within the Perti group. Further research is needed to confirm these findings against other religious organizations and groups.
