MITOS GOTONG DALAN SEBAGAI LARANGAN PERKAWINAN ADAT JAWA DALAM KAJIAN HUKUM ISLAM

Abstract

This article discusses the existence of a tradition in the Gedangan Village community, namely the prohibition of gotong dalan marriage. The prohibition of gotong dalan marriage is a prohibition for men and women whose houses are opposite each other or across the street without being separated by a crossroads. Myths that are believed by the community as a result of gotong dalan marriages include cracks in the household, poverty, calamities, and even death. The existence of differences in the views of the people of Gedangan Village on the rules for prohibiting gotong dalan marriages is a bright spot in the discussion of this article. By studying using Islamic law, this article looks at the traditions that developed in the Gedangan Village community. The discussion in this article is focused on the myth of the prohibition of gotong dalan marriage which is believed by some of the people of Gedangan Village, how the history of the prohibition emerged, how the public views the prohibition, and how Islamic law views the prohibition of gotong dalan marriage.
